  • Funtastic Play Center

Today, Magdalene and I went to this play center in Natomas after summer school and she played for more than 3 hours. Autumn and I just chitchatted away the minutes. Two ladies that we started up a little chat with were sort of curious about our parenting lifestyle plus my being Deaf.

It was sort of weird because it is not something that I want to talk about every time I go out in the community but to get people to understand that being Deaf is a beautiful thing that includes a great culture and community, I have to plant so many seeds in minds of people that take few steps in my path.

Tomorrow, Magdalene will have some kind of summer water fun event at school so I will hang out with her then hit up a meeting at NorCal for parents of Deaf students in/around Sacramento.  This will be first of many meetings to come since I want to help with improving the system for my daughter and the other Deaf children.  Many of the program directors are not really compassionate about the education of Deaf children hence I as a parent have to invest my time and energy to off set whatever is lacking. Just need more parents to help off set it for GOOD n destroy the lame cycle of hiring .10% signing teachers that are "LAZY" but thinks they are helping. They have no idea how much they are hurting us. No idea!  Only if they knew, they would back out immediately and help 100% more by donating money to an organization that helps with preventing things like this from happening to our Deaf children.

After the meeting, we all will drive down south to Idyllwild, CA to visit family and then Darrell and I will go to Erica and Wayne s wedding! This is something that I have been looking forward to for such a long time!!!!      Just hope one of Annie's dresses is a winner to reduce around 50 percent of my stress.  Guess what the other 50% of my stress is about?!

    Enjoy the pixs!

below are pixs from last sat-

below r pixs from when I babysat Kenaz n Anya on a hot day- n was so exhausted.. surprised I survived! LOL - see how they ve grew n became more n more adorable.  if you go to my older blogs- u might see pixs of Anya when she was a toddler!

my blogging time s OVER- time to cook dinner.. even if I am sorta stuffed from the Chipotle lunch I had.  Check this out... http://www.chipotlelovers.com/calculator.asp  to see how many calories you had at your last Chipotle meal.      just go there again.  I swear- its named one of the most healthy fast food chain in nation-  natural n fresh indegrients makes it healthy.  just take it easy with the sour cream? maybe half of the rice?  its in your hands however if you are naturally skinny like my husband, enjoy a FULL burrito to the last rice n the little lonely splat of guac on the plate.

  • craigslist sucker.

edit: this lady has a deaf daughter and may have developing disables but she and i exchanged emails on how to help her daughter. nice surprise!

last year or so- i bought a double stroller from craigslist and when we used it, we discovered that it was broken w a wobbly wheel. ever since, we have been trying to fix it without success so I am giving it away for free to somebody on craigslist however i have documented that the wheel is wobbly.

    what a sucker.

from now n on- im going to sell instead of BUYing on CL because at least, i m honest.

  • Update us with your news?? Here are ours.

YAY-  I found out my blood type and the diet that goes with it. how wrongly I have been eating all those years!   The only mistake I didnt make was eating McDonald's soft serve ice cream because its gluten free.

Magdalene will start summer school on June 15th for 5 weeks. How she loves going to school. Below are photos of her last day of her first year of school.

Darrell is busy with his VWs and his job as usual.  We have been enjoying Magdalene's developing personality which is filled with humorous laughs and grins however is shy when she is at new places or seeing new people. Warms up pretty quick though!

We went to Sapphira's high school graduation and saw her walk few steps to receive her hs degree. She did walk many steps during her time at THS in her rainbow flipflops and I have to applaud that.

After the graduation, we made a stop in Santa Monica to visit Terrylene, Gio and Catalene.

We are looking forward to going to Tosi's potluck (Tosi is the midwife that helped with Magdalene s birth,) going to Leo's birthday party and maybe getting my iphone at last?!   It sort of depends on the deal between Darrell and myself. LOL. (ok- the deal s that I am to potty train Mags for my iphone to be bought by Darrell... what an incentive...   hes a sales manager at work and apparently bringing it home?! )

Leokadia is Magdalene s cousin that s turning 2 this month and they will be meeting for the first time on June 20th.

Going out to Dad's to have dinner and some chit chats w the familia.

  • to my daughter's teacher (18 months to 3 years old)

some notes about what to put on my daughter's IFSP

    - Dual language support by a person fluent in ASL
    - Assessment on her language skills by a person fluent in ASL
-if school not able to serve magdalene, we d need ASL interpreter (certified and qualified) for her to be mainstreamed    (until she reaches schoolage, she d need better interpreter?)

    my feelings -

    -children should trust their teachers
-any power struggle should be done in ASL not physically to give equality
-any subject should be taught as completely as if taught to hearing children of same age or else their lives d be scarred educationwise
